Welcome to 'The Sheep', a store idea developed around 'The Sheep, Hand Crafted in Galway' a concept dreamed up by Raytus Gassner & Mark Tierney as an authentic and true hand crafted Galway made gift.  The 'sheep' was chosen as the character due to Galway's location, situated on the edge of Connemara where the sheep is the iconic image everyone seems to bring with.

 

'The Sheep' are hand produced in our studio located upstairs in The Sheep on Mainguard Street in the heart of Medieval Galway City.  Available we have three sizes, small, medium & large, four characters, standing, looking eating & rocking and two colours, natural white wool & black, as every family has a 'black sheep'.

Our collection also includes a range of Merino wool hats and scarves produced by the Inis Méain Knitting Company on Inis Méain, one of the Aran Island situated in Galway Bay.  A luxurious range of Lamb and Merino Wool scarves & throws produced in Foxford, County Mayo by the renowned Foxford Woolen Mills. Contemporary Irish knitwear from the McConnell Woollen Mills located in Killaloe County Clare, stylish and colourful collection of exquisite accessories from the jewell in Tipperary's crown John Hanly Woollen Mills, Sheepskin baby, adult and home products from County Sligo and a commissioned collection of prints by Siobhan Mc Nutt from Galway available as exclusive greeting cards, mounted prints and framed prints.
